The tasks of the professional activity of specialists in agrochemistry and soil science include:

• management of soil processes to stabilize and increase the level of soil fertility;
• development of agronomically, economically and environmentally sound fertilizer application systems;
• providing plants with nutrients in optimal proportions with balanced nutrients in order to increase crop yields and obtain products with specified quality parameters.

The tasks of the professional activity of plant protection and quarantine specialists include:

• control over the phytosanitary condition of agricultural crops;
• development and application of an integrated plant protection system aimed at ensuring the phytosanitary stability of agroecosystems, their resistance to biotic stresses;
• prevention of emergencies and losses of crop production from pests, diseases and weeds that retard the growth and development of plants and, thereby, reduce their productivity or even lead to death;
• protection of the country’s territory from the penetration of quarantine objects (particularly dangerous pests, diseases and weeds) and the elimination of centers of their occurrence).

The specialist is intended mainly to work at agricultural enterprises – agricultural production cooperatives, enterprises for the procurement and processing of crop products, regardless of ownership; in research organizations, higher and secondary specialized educational institutions, lyceums and colleges of agricultural profile; in the departments of agronomy of the administrative bodies of the district, regional and republican levels, serving the agro-industrial complex.

You will live:

• in a well-maintained block-type hostel for the entire period of study.

You will receive:

• a scholarship for the entire period of study according to academic performance;
• nominal scholarships (of the President of the Republic of Belarus, named after A.I. Dubko, etc.)

You will have the opportunity:

• free receipt of a driver’s license category “B”;
• passing industrial practice abroad (Germany, Poland, Denmark, Switzerland, etc.);
• Continuation of studies in the magistracy of the university.

The close connection of theoretical training with the practical training of students makes it possible to train highly qualified specialists who meet the requirements of the food industry. Students take an active part in research work, make presentations at conferences at the university, in other educational and scientific institutions of the republic. Every year, students of the faculty take part in the republican project “100 Ideas for Belarus”, held at the university, present their developments to the regional and republican tours.

• Organization and implementation of anti-epizootic (preventive and forced) measures.
• Carrying out diagnostic, veterinary and sanitary, therapeutic, preventive, organizational measures at the objects of professional activity.
• Promotion of veterinary knowledge among the population.
• Development and production of biological preparations for veterinary medicine.
• Training of personnel of a veterinary profile.
